Here’s how to make bait for white-breasted kingfishers using duck giblets:

• Clean the duck intestines, place them in a plastic bag and tie it tightly, then leave to ferment for about one day and one night.
• Wash the prawns thoroughly, place them in a plastic bag and seal it tightly (you should use 3–4 layers of bags to ensure no air gets in), then leave to ferment for 48 hours.
• Leave the duck eggs out in the sun until they rot.

• Please remember that if it rains whilst the tofu is drying, you must bring the container indoors. Rainwater will spoil the tofu.
• Fry the remaining 500g of tofu until golden brown, then press it. Press firmly for about 5 hours until the tofu becomes firm.
• Cut the pressed beans into small cubes.
• Place the compressed beans into the box containing the fermented beans. Seal the lid tightly and leave to dry in the sun for a further 5 hours, after which they are ready for fishing.
