Technology & Features
With its outstanding features, the genuine Daiwa Tatula 100HSL spinning reel is a standout product in its price range.
The product features a frame cast from a single-piece aluminium alloy to the standard used in civil aviation; consequently, it offers excellent pressure resistance, durability, superior rust resistance and exceptional strength, whilst also helping to reduce weight.
Thanks to its unique spool design, the Daiwa Tatula 100HSL spinning reel stands out from other models in the series, featuring a spool with ventilation holes that allow water to drain from the line, helping it dry quickly and increasing its durability. Furthermore, this design has enabled Daiwa to significantly reduce the reel’s weight.
The combination of these two features gives the Daiwa Tatula 100HSL spinning reel an exceptionally impressive weight; arguably the lightest of its kind, given that the standard weight for side-casting reels ranges from 215 to 235 grams, whilst this model weighs just 195 grams. This is a major advantage for anglers who need to cast for extended periods.
The feature that makes the Daiwa Tatula 100HSL spinning reel stand out the most is the refinement of the drag control knob (the bait-feeding knob), which has been replaced by the Zero Adjuster. With the Zero Adjuster, all you need to do is adjust it to suit your requirements and casting power. All adjustments to the spool acceleration are made via the Magforce Z drag control knob, streamlining the process and making it ideal for anglers who frequently change lures or those new to the sport.

Detailed description:
1. UTD: Ultimate Tournament Drag
Daiwa’s proprietary technology has created a drag system with carbon brake discs that deliver high, smooth braking force. Notably, the drag force, initial friction and start-up drag are very low.
2. TWS (T-Wing System)
The TWS (T-Wing System) is essentially a T-shaped line-adjustment system, helping anglers cast more accurately and further by reducing friction and ensuring the line is wound evenly onto the spool.

The Daiwa T-Wing system ensures smoother, more even line release
Rather than creating a single slot for the line to run through, as in traditional reels, the T-Wing system designs this slot in the shape of a ‘T’.
When line is released, the spool mechanism is engaged, causing the line to automatically pass through the widest part of the ‘T’ without encountering any unnecessary friction, which minimises line damage and tangling whilst maximising casting accuracy and distance for anglers using the Daiwa Tatula 100HSL.
When retrieving the line, it is drawn through the lower slot of the ‘T’, thus ensuring the same level of accuracy as conventional reels.
3. Air Rotation
Smoothness takes on a whole new level with the Daiwa Tatula’s new Air Rotation. A new technology that makes turning the handle effortless, Air Rotation is as light as air and as smooth as silk – and must be seen, or better still, used, to be fully appreciated.
At the heart of Air Rotation lies a precisely designed and machined gear system; a level of refinement that delivers unrivalled smoothness and quiet operation under load.
4. Magforce ZTM
Controlling the casting action has never been more refined or effortless in the new Tatula, with Daiwa’s legendary Magforce Z delivering optimum control and precision. Magforce Z is seamless in design and perfect in performance, controlling the entire casting process.

Magforce Z can be easily adjusted to suit any skill level to control the intensity, whilst allowing the spool to start spinning faster and spin for longer to ensure a smooth spool rotation.
