Launched in 2023, the Daiwa Salamandura Air TW is a brand-new finesse reel built on the basis of Daiwa’s versatile SV 70 platform (used for the Tatula SV TW 70 in the USA) and incorporates many of the premium features of Daiwa’s HYPERDRIVE design for enthusiasts of finesse fishing.

Featuring Daiwa’s Hyper Armed body, the frame and side plates of the handle are crafted from durable, lightweight aluminium. The Salamandura Air TW is robust, comfortable and extremely easy to handle.

Equipped with an 80mm aluminium handle, it is the perfect size for finesse fishing. The I-shaped handle knob is crafted from Daiwa’s proprietary Zaion carbon material, making it lightweight and responsive.

Inside, the Salamandura Air TW features Daiwa’s Hyperdrive Digigear, a gear design that allows the gear teeth to transmit power more efficiently, resulting in a smoother and more powerful gear feel whilst also reducing gear noise. The Hyper Tough clutch eliminates clutch misengagement, even under heavy casting conditions. Equipped with 7+1 bearings (5 CRBB – corrosion-resistant ball bearings), the Salamandura Air TW is a joy to cast and retrieve and is rated as safe for use in salt water.

Fitted with Daiwa’s T-Wing System (TWS), it delivers precise line retrieval whilst opening up during the cast to minimise friction, resulting in increased casting distance and line control. The 30mm shallow-profile AIR spool is specifically designed for finesse lure fishing and can easily cast lures as light as 1/16oz when paired with the recommended 30m (33 yard) length of lightweight braided line or fluorocarbon/nylon line. The Salamandura Air TW also features a drag system, an essential feature on modern finesse bait reels.

Finished in a stunning deep red and black colour scheme, which highlights the fire salamander emblem on the side panel, the Salamandura Air TW boasts a stylish and modern design.
