Daiwa Bass X 2019 horizontal lure reel | 2-piece
The Daiwa Bass X spinning rod is characterised by its very light weight and excellent elasticity; this rod is manufactured by Daiwa Vietnam, featuring Fuji guides that are resistant to wear and tear and line snagging. Personally, I think this rod is excellent – I’m currently using one myself. Many anglers insist on buying rods from Indonesia, Malaysia or Japan, whilst this one is very reasonably priced; when compared to rods costing 3–4 million, I don’t see much difference.

The Daiwa Bass X spinning rod is characterised by its extremely light weight and excellent springiness; at a very reasonable price of 1.7 million, it offers exceptional value for the quality it delivers. Many customers say that ‘Vietnamese’ products are not of the same quality as those from Indonesia or Malaysia. When compared to the Shimano Expride, there are quite a few similarities in design and they feel equally lightweight; the difference is that the Expride features Fuji SIC guides that offer better resistance to line fraying, and may have a superior rod blank, and the reel offers better sensitivity to the bite; however, with the Daiwa Bass X rod featuring an Aluminium Oxi guide, to be honest, for the line to actually break, it would have to be completely rotten by then. For average or budget-conscious anglers, this is a rather sensible choice in terms of price.
Shimano rods are expensive due to the brand name; in the under-3-million price bracket, they’re not on a par with Daiwa (because Daiwa are manufactured in Vietnam, and it’s precisely this ‘Vietnamese’ label that leads to criticism, with people claiming they’re not as good as Indonesian rods...). Below 4 million, Shimano rods are superior to Daiwa.
